Cardassian Armadas
Once you get Kira, Sisco and O’Brien, these armadas will become much easier. In addition, the station research plays a huge part in them. So, how do you kill them before? For uncommons, you have a secret weapon you haven’t used in forever. Gaila.
Uncommon Armadas
At full promotion, Gaila lowers the crit damage of targets by 50% (if your Gaila is lower, you have to adjust the math). With max Gaila, if you use Picard as captain, with Beverly on the side, that boosts her ability to 110%. You can also use Pike/Moreau, but since Moreau doesn’t work against armadas, your ship will take a pounding.
Armada Type | Critical Damage | Starting Crit Chance | Crit Increase/Round | Round for 100% Crit |
---|---|---|---|---|
Uncommon | 300% | 20% | 10% | 8 |
Rare | 375% | 20% | 0% | |
Epic | 450% | 20% | 0% |
So if you look at the chart above, you can see how many crews you need with Gaila at 110% damage reduction to make crits hit for 0 damage. That’s right. Zero. None. So if you can survive seven rounds against an uncommon, you immediately win because it does NO damage the rest of fight. At all.
Even in round 1, you have a 30% chance of taking zero damage from every hit, and it just goes up every round.
Rare/Epic Armadas
For Rares and Epics, they don’t increase in crit. However, the crits they do hit extremely hard. Therefore, you are going to want at least one ship with epic Troi as captain with enough synergy to get her to 20% critical reduction on the armada. This will entirely remove crits from the armada.
Unfortunately, these new armadas hit way harder than normal armadas. Don’t expect to be able to kill the same level of armadas as you had on regular ones, until you get a whole bunch of research done, and have the new officers. This is similar to exchange armadas, where research will make them a cake walk and no research means lots of blowing up.
